Courtney Banghart, Princeton Head Women’s Basketball Coach, is the 2015 Naismith National Coach of the Year and one of Fortune Magazine’s 50 Greatest World Leaders – among the ranks of Pope Francis and Bill & Melinda Gates.
Princeton Women’s Basketball Head Coach Courtney Banghart was named 2015 Naismith National Coach of the Year and one of Fortune Magazine’s 50 Greatest Leaders. Princeton’s undefeated 30-0 regular season in 2014-15 was the best in Ivy League basketball history, men’s or women’s. Under Banghart’s guidance, the Tigers also achieved the highest-ever ranking for an Ivy League program, climbing as high as No. 13 nationally. After just eight seasons as head coach at Princeton, Banghart is the winningest coach in program history with a 169-67 overall record and has led the Tigers to five Ivy League championships. Under Banghart’s leadership, the Tigers finished with a program-best mark of 31-1 last season and recorded an NCAA Tournament win. Banghart, who has a master’s degree in leadership development, was also named Ivy League Coach of the Year and United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) National Coach of the Year.
