Delta Psi’s Chapter Advisor, Bob Eckart has been selected to the Order of Constantine as a member of the class of 2012. Bob has been Delta Psi’s Chapter Advisor since 2010. He was an assistant and co-Chapter Advisor for 13 years with Arch Love for Delta Psi during the 70’s and 80’s. He was also Chapter Advisor for Albany State for 12 years. Bob has also been an active member of the Phi Epsilon Phi House Corporation for more than 20 years.
Justa’s nickname comes from 1970, when Bob was “just a pledge.” As a hold-over from the class of 1973, he was initiated with the class of 1974, on April 25, 1971. Because he was so well known by the brotherhood from an extra year of pledging, many of the new pledges and visitors mistook Bob for a brother, but Bob’s response was always I’m justa pledge” and the moniker stuck. Bob has been justa a pledge, justa brother, justa a magister, justa a chapter advisor and now has been recognized as justa Order of Constantine Brother
Justa is the sixth member of Delta Psi to enter the Order, joining, Arch Love ’42, Larry Mentz ’67, Past Grand Consul Bob Jones ’73, Bob Shortle ’74 and Bob “Ruff” Hutnick, 71. Having six members in the Order from such a small chapter (based upon total alumni) is a remarkable feat and recognition of a very strong chapter brotherhood. The public announcement welcoming Justa into the Order was made Sunday, February 19, 2012, by Order of Constantine President, Bob Barney Shortle, 74.
