Brothers,
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. The weather here in NJ has been beautiful. I have just four things to communicate to all of you.
First, a summary of our 10th Alumni Work Party is available at http://www.sigmachi-rpi.org/news/39
Second, at our annual meeting, the proposed slate of directors was elected by acclimation. Thanks, again, to all those who sent in their proxies. At least 4 brothers have asked to be included on the conference calls for our monthly meetings so they may actively participate and perhaps serve on the board in the future.
Third, I will be driving tomorrow morning to Troy to be at the EMPAC center to hear Courtney Banghart speak. Courtney is Jim Banghart’s (Class of ’69) daughter. See the attachment. This will be our first major event sponsored by Pinewoods Educational Foundation. Link to the presentation Flyer ==> http://www.sigmachi-rpi.org/news/37
Finally, I want to remind you of the upcoming celebration at 58 Pinewoods Avenue.
(More details http://www.sigmachi-rpi.org/homecoming2015)
On Friday evening, October 2nd, there will be an informal welcoming at the Pomeroy Chapter House. Beer and wine will be available.
On Saturday, October 3rd, there will be a football game and tailgating. The undergrads will have a concession near the entrance to the game selling hot dogs and hamburgers. Last year they were very successful and raised a good deal of money for the Huntsman Cancer Center.
At 4 PM, there will be adult beverages served at the chapter house with a short White Rose Ceremony, and the unveiling of our tribute to our chapter’s Constantine Sigs. At 6 pm, the chapter’s cook, Mike Volpe, will be catering our dinner.
The highlight of the weekend will be a band party featuring our house band from 1966, Oedipus and the Mothers. Be there or be square!
Sunday afternoon, October 4th, at 2 PM, there will be a Ritualistic Chapter Meeting to cap off the weekend.
Well, that’s it from me. Come join us and your classmates. I hear there are at least two brothers making their first appearance since they graduated close to 50 years ago. Come and greet them and all the others. You can sign up by going to: alumni.rpi.edu/reunion
You will also be able to see who else will be attending on that website.
In hoc,
John Leroy Pfaff ’71
